Globalstar has rejected claims that its communication network is hackable. The company said recent “news stories about Globalstar are based on analysis by Synack, a startup in the business of identifying possible security flaws for which they then propose remedial measures that they insist we implement.”

Asia Broadcast Satellite (ABS) has reportedly cancelled a satellite order with Boeing because of ongoing uncertainty of the project’s financing. Funding was partially to be provided by the U.S. Export-Import Bank, which is currently shuttered after its charter expired on 30 June.

The Tropospheric Emissions: Monitoring of Pollution (TEMPO) instrument, developed by Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp., has completed its Critical Design Review, confirming the integrity of the design and its ability to meet mission requirements. The instrument began fabrication in June after an earlier set of reviews.

Manufacturing of navigational satellites of the GLONASS-M family in the Krasnoyarsk territory has been rounded up and they will be replaced by the satellites of next-generation families – GLONASS-K and GLONASS-K2, a spokesman for manufacturer ISS Reshetnev said.
