Two unfurlable mesh antenna reflectors developed by Harris Corporation were successfully deployed last month onboard the first Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) satellite built by Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company. FASTSAT (Fast, Affordable, Science and Technology SATellite), developed by Dynetics in partnership with NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) and the Von Braun Center for Science and Innovation (VCSI), completed 17 months of mission operations on orbit. The mission has been extended through at least October 2012.

Lockheed Martin, under a contract from the University of Arizona (U of Az), has completed assembly of the Near Infrared Camera (NIRCam) Instrument Modules. NIRCam is the prime near-infrared imaging instrument for NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope (JWST).
