Thales Alenia Space announced that it has completed integration of the fourth ICC (Integrated Cargo Carrier), the service module for the ATV (Automated Transfer Vehicle), on behalf of the European Space Agency (ESA).

The U.S. Air Force’s fleet of Global Positioning System (GPS) Block IIR and IIR-M satellites has accumulated 150 collective years of successful on-orbit operations.

Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp.’s Ozone Mapping and Profiler Suite (OMPS) onboard the NPP satellite began collecting Earthview image science and solar calibration data on 24 January 2012.

Boeing said it has accelerated the assembly of its Global Positioning System (GPS IIF) satellites through the use of a pulse-line manufacturing approach adapted from the Boeing 737 airplane production line.

Boeing has received authorisation from the U.S. Air Force to produce and launch the eighth and ninth Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) satellites.

The High Frequency Instrument on ESA’s Planck mission has completed its survey of the remnant light from the Big Bang. The sensor ran out of coolant on 14 January as expected, ending its ability to detect this faint energy.

Canada has joined the United States’ Wideband Global Satellite (WGS) Communications System. The move is to fill the strategic satellite communications requirements of the Canadian Forces over the next 20 years.
