ViaSat Inc. has rescheduled the launch of its high-capacity satellite ViaSat-1 with International Launch Services (ILS) to summer 2011.

MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. has signed a multi-million dollar contract amendment exercising an option on the contract announced 19 January 2010. MDA will provide Orbital Sciences Corporation with solutions to enable capture and mating of the Cygnus cargo delivery spacecraft to the International Space Station.

Following the successful completion of all scheduled manoeuvres since launch, the KA-SAT satellite of Eutelsat Communications is now positioned at its definitive location in geostationary orbit at 9 degrees East.

U.S. Space LLC, a U.S.-based creator of dedicated space solutions for government and commercial clients, and ATK announced the creation of ViviSat, a new satellite life extension venture.

Saft said it was preparing to fill its next order for lithium-ion (Li-ion) space batteries as part of a five-year Long Term Agreement signed with Boeing Space and Intelligence Systems in 2009.

Orbital Sciences Corporation announced that the Glory satellite has arrived at Vandenberg Air Force Base to be integrated with the company’s Taurus XL rocket that will launch the satellite into low-Earth orbit in late February.
