The payload processing for Arianespace’s year-ending dual-payload Ariane 5 flight is continuing. Lift-off is scheduled for 28 December within a launch window that extends from 2126 to 2215 UTC.

The launch of Eutelsat’s KA-SAT aboard a Proton M/Briz M has been rescheduled for 26 December 2010, 2151 UTC. It will be the 12th and final Proton launch in 2010, and the eighth this year under the auspices of International Launch Services.

Boeing announced that it has received a contract for approximately US$1 billion from the government of Mexico to deliver an end-to-end satellite communications system.

Thales Alenia Space announced that it has completed integration of the third ICC (Integrated Cargo Carrier), the service module for the ATV (Automated Transfer Vehicle), on behalf of the European Space Agency.

ISRO is to launch its GSAT-5P communications satellite (GSAT 5 Prime, also known as INSAT 4D) aboard a GSLV Mk. 1 rocket from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota on 20 December at approx. 1030 UTC.

Lockheed Martin Corp has been awarded a US$1.3 billion U.S. Air Force contract update for production of a fourth Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) satellite, the U.S. Defense Department announced.

The Italian COSMO-SkyMed constellation is now fully operational and complete with the arrival of the system’s fourth satellite in its final orbit position. The satellite was launched on 5 November from the Vandenberg base in California, and came fully on-stream with the transmission of the first images to the ground stations.
