NASA’s Tracking and Data Relay Satellite (TDRS) K-L programme completed its Critical Design Review (CDR) and Production Readiness Review (PRR) in El Segundo, California on 19 February.

Astrium subsidiary Dutch Space has been granted two new contracts for the delivery of solar panels for the Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 satellites. These satellites are part of the international Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES) programme of the European Union and ESA.

On 18 February, ESA’s Science Programme Committee (SPC) approved three medium-class missions to enter the so-called definition phase. This is the next step required before the final decision is taken as to which missions are implemented.
