SES S.A., Intelsat, Ltd., and Inmarsat plc announced that they have founded the Space Data Association Ltd. (SDA), a non-profit company established in the Isle of Man that is the first satellite operator-led association dedicated to sharing critical operational data in support of satellite operations, improving flight safety and preserving the space environment.

The Mercury-bound MESSENGER spacecraft completed its fifth and final deep-space manoeuvre of the mission, providing the expected velocity change needed to place the spacecraft on course to enter into orbit about Mercury in March 2011.

Thales Alenia Space has confirmed it was no longer involved in the construction of the Ekspress-AM5 and -AM6 satellites that are being built by ISS Reshetnev. TAS apparently has been replaced by Canada’s MDA.

The Russian Ministry of Agriculture has awarded a contract to Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems for the manufacture of three Kosmos-CX satellites intended for remote sensing observations and monitoring of agricultural lands over the whole Russian territory.

Three GLONASS-M satellites have been sent back to manufacturer Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems, Interfax reported citing an unnamed source at the Baikonur Cosmodrome.
