SES Astra announced that its new Astra 1M satellite has been successfully deployed at its final orbital position at 19.2 degrees East and is ready for commercial operations.

The Aerosol Polarimetry Sensor developed by Raytheon Company has shown in a test it would neither emit nor experience interference from electromagnetic impulses it might encounter in space.

SES New Skies said its NSS-9 satellite has safely arrived at the European spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana, onboard an Antonov cargo plane.

ESA and OHB-System AG have signed a contract for the analysis and design of a satellite constellation for global ship tracking. The contract has a volume of around EUR1 million (US$1.31 million).

Gazprom Space Systems (formerly known as Gascom or Gazkom) has ordered two satellites from Thales Alenia Space and one from Reshetnev Company in order to enlarge its Yamal constellation.

ISS Reshetnev Company has won a tender on in-orbit delivery of a geostationary telecommunication satellite, Telkom 3, for the Indonesian operator PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk.

The U.S. Air Force has authorised the Commonwealth of Australia’s provision of US$234 million for Boeing to complete production of the sixth Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) satellite.
