Raytheon submits proposal for GOES-R ground segment

The Team GOES-R partnership led by Raytheon Company has submitted its proposal to develop the ground segment for the U.S: National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s next-generation Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite series known as GOES-R.

Thales Alenia Space to supply RF assemblies for Amos-4

Thales Alenia Space announced a contract with Israel Aerospace Industries, acting through its Systems Missiles and Space Group, MBT Space Division, to supply RF communication assemblies for the Amos-4 communication satellite.

Second European navigation satellite completes in-orbit testing

EADS Astrium said that its Giove-B navigation satellite performed excellently during the In-Orbit Test (IOT) phase that was completed yesterday. The satellite was launched in April 2008 after a two-year delay.

Rosetta closing in on its first target

Spacecraft controllers have awoken Rosetta from hibernation to prepare for its encounter with asteroid (2867) Steins on 5 September. ESA’s comet chaser will study the asteroid as it flies by on its way to comet 67/P Churyumov-Gerasimenko.
