The GIOVE-B navigation satellite has received unconditional clearance for launch. The Soyuz launch vehicle with the satellite on board has already taken up its final launch position at Baikonur Cosmodrome.

Integral Systems, Inc., announced a contract with ProtoStar-II Ltd. of Bermuda to provide a completely integrated ground control system for ProtoStar-II, a 601HP satellite currently under (re-)construction by Boeing.

The antenna system that will enable NASA’s Gamma-ray Large Area Telescope (GLAST) to communicate with stations on Earth has been successfully connected to the spacecraft in the Astrotech payload processing facility near NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.

The Space Based Space Surveillance (SBSS) System Block 10 team, led by Boeing with Ball Aerospace and Technologies Corp. providing the space vehicle, announced completion of the payload electronics, high-speed gimbal and testing of the space vehicle’s visible sensor, enabling the start of payload integration and test.

Several instruments that will help NASA characterise the moon’s surface have been installed on the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, or LRO. Four of six instruments have been mated to the spacecraft, with one to be installed soon and one to arrive in the near future.
