DMSP satellite operated in first-ever gyroless control

Defense Meteorological Satellite Program Flight 15 (DMSP-F15), launched in December 1999, successfully operated without navigation gyros for 24 hours demonstrating a new promising capability that can extend portions of the DMSP mission even when critical gyro data is not available.

MDA to design ExoMars robotic chassis for EADS Astrium

MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. said it has been awarded a contract for EUR1 million (US$1.4 million) with EADS Astrium (UK) to provide an advanced technology solution for ExoMars, the upcoming Mars mission of ESA.

Ball Aerospace to build next Landsat camera

Spaceway 3 completes trip to Kourou

Hughes Network Systems, LLC announced that its Spaceway 3 satellite has arrived at the Arianespace launch facility in Kourou, French Guiana where an Ariane 5 ECA will launch the satellite into geosynchronous transfer orbit.

Milstar constellation reconfigured
