Lockheed/Northrop team advances SpaceWire technology for TSAT

A Lockheed Martin /Northrop Grumman team has achieved a key design milestone for a high-performance technology solution that will dramatically increase data transfer speeds in the U.S. Air Force’s Transformational Satellite Communications System (TSAT) constellation, Lockheed Martin said.

Progress M-66 docks with International Space Station

Ekspress MD1 put into operation within RSCC’s constellation

The Ekspress MD1 satellite is in service now within the Russian Satellite Communications Company’s constellation, RSCC announced on 12 May.

SS/L to build tenth Optus satellite

Space Systems/Loral (SS/L) announced that it has been awarded a contract to manufacture a spacecraft for Australian telecommunications service provider, SingTel Optus.

Increasingly bleak outlook for Mars rover ‘Spirit’

Hopes for reviving NASA’s Spirit Mars rover dimmed further with passage last week of the point at which the rover’s locale received its maximum sunshine for the Martian year, the agency said.

Airbus DS to build SES-12

SES S.A. and Airbus Defence and Space announced that SES has selected Airbus Defence and Space to build a new hybrid communications satellite, SES-12, to serve the fast growing DTH, Data, Mobility and Government markets in Asia.

GOES-R magnetometer ready for spacecraft integration

SNC establishes contact with all six Orbcomm Generation 2 satellites
