Inquiry: poor workmanship killed Eutelsat W3B

Submit on Thursday, January 1st, 1970 00:00

The loss of Eutelsat’s W3B satellite shortly after launch may have been caused by changes made to the spacecraft’s propulsion system. The location of the leak that rendered W3B useless shortly after separation from the Ariane 5 launcher was likely located in a propellant tube connected to one the satellite’s thrusters.
