Back in business: Proton M/Briz M launches Hotbird 8

Rocket: Proton M/Briz M; Payload: Hotbird 8; Date: 4 August 2006, 2148 UTC; Launch Site: Baikonur, Kazakhstan. The successful mission lasted 9 hours and 11 minutes before Hotbird 8 was released into a geosynchronous transfer orbit. The launch was delayed more than two months because of the previous Briz M failure that caused the loss of Arabsat 4A.
