NASA said it has joined with Red Planet Capital, Inc., San Mateo, California/USA, in a partnership to help the agency gain access to new and innovative technologies through the venture capital community.

Spacehab’s Astrotech Space Operations subsidiary has been awarded a new payload processing services contract by NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.

Russian and French engineers will jointly design two telecom satellites, Ekspress-AM 33 and Ekspress-AM 44, Itar-Tass news agency reported.

NASA cleared Atlantis for a landing on 21 September after finding that the space shuttle appeared undamaged and concluding the discovery of unexplained space debris did not pose a serious problem.
