Andrews replaces Orbital in RpK’s COTS team

Rocketplane Kistler (RpK) and Andrews Space, Inc. (Andrews) announced that they have entered into a strategic relationship to support the NASA Commercial Orbital Transportation Services (COTS) programme and other applications of RpK’s space transportation system.

GAO: NOAA needs to learn lessons for GOES-R

The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) has released a report on the status of a next generation NOAA weather forecasting satellite system, GOES-R. The report raises concerns about the current plans for acquiring new weather satellites relied upon to provide the U.S. with daily and severe forecasts.

Boeing, Ball select CCD sensor for SBSS Pathfinder

The Boeing team that is building the Space Based Space Surveillance (SBSS) system has successfully completed a key risk reduction milestone by selecting a vendor for the optical sensor that will fly aboard the Pathfinder spacecraft.

First German spy satellite completed

The first of five SAR Lupe satellites has been completed by German aerospace company OHB-System AG and is undergoing final environmental testing.
