Double trouble for new satellite operator Arsat

Nahuel 1, which is currently being transferred from its former operator Nahuelsat to the Argentinian state-controlled company Arsat, has reportedly developed technical problems with its on-board thrusters. In related news, an attempt to save Argentina’s 81 degrees West slot may not have worked out as planned.

Failure of Metop-A’s primary AHRPT is permanent

Since the Metop-A anomaly observed on 4 July 2007 when the AHRPT transmitter autonomously switched off, investigations with Astrium and ESA/ESTEC remained focussed on the status of the failed AHRPT sub-system, EUMETSAT said.
