NASA’S SDO to improve predictions of violent space weather

Sometime between the end of 2008 and the beginning 2009, NASA will launch the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) to examine how the Sun builds up and explosively releases magnetic energy, which powers severe space weather.

Kizuna deploys multi-beam antennas

Jules Verne ATV launch rescheduled to 9 March

Arianespace and the European Space Agency said that the launch of Jules Verne, the first Automated Transfer Vehicle, is delayed 24 hours owing to a technical concern about the ATV/Ariane 5 launcher separation system.
