One of the big reasons that satellite TV is becoming so much more popular than cable television service is because of sports packages and high definition options. Of course these are not the only reasons why people are switching to satellite TV.

HDTV stands for high definition television. This is a higher quality television picture than the SDTV or standard definition television.
