Fobos-Grunt likely not recoverable – Roskosmos

The Russian space agency Roskosmos admitted that the Fobos-Grunt mission is likely unrecoverable. “There is little chance that we will be able to realise this mission,” deputy head Vitaly Davydov was quoted as saying.

Next TDRS generation on track

The most recent evaluations of NASA’s Tracking and Data Relay Satellite (TDRS) project confirmed all systems go for a third generation upgrade of the orbiting communications network. TDRS-K is scheduled for launch aboard an Atlas V rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida in autumn 2012.

Turkmenistan orders satellite from TAS, leases Monaco slot
