Astrium has successfully completed the Astra 2F testing in orbit and has handed over the control of the satellite to SES who will now validate the performance of its communications payload before placing it in operational service at its 28.2 degrees East orbital location.

The Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (SpaceX) Dragon spacecraft was berthed to the International Space Station at 1303 UTC on 10 October. The delivery flight is the first contracted resupply mission by the company under NASA’s Commercial Resupply Services contract.

An International Launch Services Proton M/Briz M ist to launch Intelsat 23 on 14 October 2012, 0837 UTC from Baikonur, Kazakhstan. It will be the fourth Geostationary Orbit Insertion Mission on an ILS Proton.

Emcore Corporation has been awarded a solar panel manufacturing contract by ATK for the Amos-6 commercial telecommunications satellite planned for launch in early 2015. Solar panels populated with Emcore’s most advanced ZTJ triple-junction solar cells will power the Amos-6 spacecraft manufactured by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI).
