NASA completes LADEE mission with impact on moon’s surface

Ground controllers at NASA’s Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, California, have confirmed that NASA’s Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer (LADEE) spacecraft impacted the surface of the moon, as planned, between 0430 an 0522 UTC on 18 April.-

SpaceX launch of NASA cargo to Space Station set for Friday

ATV-5 loaded with cargo for its launch by Arianespace

Cargo loading has commenced in French Guiana for the fifth – and final – European Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV), which is being prepared for a 2014 launch from the Spaceport on Arianespace’s next Ariane 5 servicing mission to the International Space Station.

Amazonas 4A anomaly under investigation

Following the launch of the Amazonas 4A from Kourou on board Arianespace’s Ariane 5 ECA launch vehicle and its subsequent positioning in the geostationary orbit, an anomaly has been detected in the satellite’s performance related to the power subsystem.

NASA signs agreement with SpaceX for use of launch pad

NASA has signed a property agreement with Space Exploration Technologies Corporation (SpaceX) for use and occupancy of Kennedy Space Center’s historic Launch Complex 39A. It will serve as a platform for SpaceX to support their commercial launch activities.
