Orbital to scrap AJ-26, outsource 1 or 2 CRS launches

Orbital Sciences Corporation announced comprehensive plans to fulfil its contract commitments under NASA’s Commercial Resupply Services (CRS) programme as well as to accelerate an upgrade of the Antares medium-class launcher’s main propulsion system. The recent crash of an Antares rocket was likely caused by a turbopump failure.

CubeSats to fly on H-IIA

Spaceflight Inc. and Japan Manned Space Systems Corporation (JAMSS) announced a co-operative launch service agreement to integrate and deploy CubeSats from the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) Astro-H mission. The Spaceflight and JAMSS commercial partnership has enabled U.S. commercial CubeSat customers to launch on an H-IIA launch vehicle for the first time.

Stallion Oilfield Services doubles satellite capacity with SES

SES announced it has signed a new capacity agreement with Global Data Systems (GDS) to enable Stallion Oilfield Services to connect an increasing number of oil and gas drilling sites across the U.S. and Canada.
