TsSKB Progress has plans for Soyuz-5

e2v announces new microprocessors for commercial space applications

e2v said it has launched a new grade of high-performance microprocessors based on the multicore processors from the Freescale QorIQ family. These processors still produce tens of Gflop of performance, but in addition deliver space grade reliability through e2v’s radiation-tolerant semiconductor technology.

Venture capital to nurture ESA space applications

ESA has signed an agreement with the EUR116-million Seraphim Space & Special Situations Fund to work alongside ESA’s Advanced Research in Telecommunications Systems (ARTES) Applications programme. The Fund will also back other space-related investment opportunities beyond ESA.

Inmarsat confirms launch date for its third Global Xpress satellite

Inmarsat confirmed that the third satellite in the transformational Global Xpress (GX) programme – Inmarsat-5 F3 (I-5 F3) – has been scheduled for launch at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 1144 UTC on Friday 28 August.

NOAA signs first U.S. Government deal with SES for O3b capacity

SES Government Solutions has agreed to a one year contract with the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency (NOAA) to provide O3b Networks’ services and ground equipment to the National Weather Service Office (WSO) in Pago Pago, American Samoa.
