Tyvak to support Atlas V CubeSat Rideshare initiative

Tyvak Nanosatellite Systems has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with United Launch Alliance (ULA) to serve as the primary Auxiliary Payload Customer on CubeSat Rideshare Initiative efforts through 31 December 2019.

SSL, Busek collaborate on electric propulsion

Space Systems Loral (SSL) announced that it is collaborating with Busek Co, Inc. to advance the current capability of solar electric propulsion systems. SSL and Busek plan to build on the current collaboration specifically to address the future needs of NASA and other U.S. government agencies.

ViaSat Inc., Eutelsat Communications in broadband JV

Thales Alenia Space signs ESA contract to build Sentinel-3C and D

Kwangmyongsong-4 said to have achieved stable orbit

North Korea’s recently launched Kwangmyongsong-4 satellite has reportedly been observed tumbling in orbit but meanwhile is said to have stabilised, news agencies reported citing two unnamed U.S. officials.

North Korean satellite in orbit – but does it work?

Rocket: Unha 3 [Taepodong 3, Kwangmyongsong?]; Payload: Kwangmyongsong-4; Date: 7 February 2016, 0030 UTC; Launch site: Sohae Space Center, North Korea. The satellite separated from the third stage at 0039 UTC into a 465 km x 502 km x 97.5 degrees orbit.
