Gogo partners with China Telecom Satellite

Gogo announced that it has received regulatory approval from the various Chinese regulatory bodies through its local partner China Telecom Satellite, and will work with China Telecom Satellite to offer in-flight connectivity service on International flights operating in and out of China starting in October.

Orbital ATK and NASA report outcomes from SLS motor test

NASA and Orbital ATK announced that data gathered and reviewed to date from the second five-segment qualification motor (QM-2) test show the solid rocket motor manufactured by Orbital ATK performed as designed.

Aerojet Rocketdyne to mature development of MPS-130

China launches high-res radar satellite

Rocket: Chang Zheng 4C; Payload: GaoFen-3; Date: 9 August 2016, 2255 UTC; Launch site: Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, China. The radar reconnaissance satellite was catalogued in a 735 km x 747 km x 98.4 degrees sun-synchronous orbit.

Delay of the day: H-IIB Launch Vehicle No. 6/HTV 6

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) decided to postpone the launch of the H-IIB Launch Vehicle No. 6 with the H-II Transfer Vehicle “KOUNOTORI6” (HTV6) onboard from the Tanegashima Space Center.

Next Cygnus mission to ISS likely slips to September

Orbital ATK completed a stage test at the end of May and final data review has confirmed the test was successful, clearing the way for the Antares return to flight, now expected for the second half of September.

Hardware for EPS ground station network deployed

Northrop Grumman Corporation successfully deployed the Enhanced Polar System (EPS) Control and Planning Segment (CAPS) hardware in December 2015 to operational sites at Clear Air Force Station (CAFS), Alaska and Schriever Air Force Base (SAFB), Colorado – paving the way for System Acceptance Testing in the spring of 2017.
