SSC and Millennium Space Systems team on ALTAIR launch

Officials with SSC, the Swedish Space Corporation, and Millennium Space Systems of El Segundo, Calif., announced they are teaming together on the first-ever ALTAIR launch to provide customisation and rapid constellation production for Millennium’s customers.

Lockheed Martin finalises contract for NASA lunar imaging CubeSat

Lockheed Martin has signed a contract with NASA to deploy SkyFire, a 6U CubeSat planned to launch to the moon in 2018 with Orion’s Exploration Mission-1 (EM-1).

New SBIRS ground system enters into dedicated operational testing

U.S. Air Force Space Command’s Space and Missile Systems Center and 460th Space Wing announced the successful completion of the Space-Based Infrared Systems Block 10 ground system’s Integrated Test and Evaluation (IT&E) phase and entry into Operational Utility Evaluation (OUE), the dedicated operational testing phase of the programme.

Eutelsat concludes agreement with SpeedCast to sell stake in Wins

Eutelsat Communications and SpeedCast International Limited have signed an agreement whereby SpeedCast will acquire Eutelsat’s 70% stake in Wins Limited for a consideration based on a total enterprise value of approximately EUR60 million.

Preparations for dual Intelsat launch

The next Ariane 5 rocket was rolled out from the Launcher Integration Building at the Spaceport in French Guiana to the Final Assembly Building. This process formally transferred authority for the heavy-lift vehicle to Arianespace from production prime contractor Airbus Safran Launchers.

USAF releases GPS III-3 launch services RFP

Mitsubishi Electric to double satellite component production capacity
