First SmallGEO satellite launched by Soyuz from French Guiana

Rocket: Soyuz 2.1-b; Payload: Hispasat 36W-1; Date:28 January 2017, 0106 UTC; Launch Site: Sinnamary, French Guiana. The satellite separated from the Fregat upper stage 35 minutes after lift-off as planned and was deployed into geostationary transfer orbit. Contact with the spacecraft was established about 17 minutes later.

GS Yuasa and EaglePicher Technologies to Power JPSS-2

GS Yuasa Lithium Power (GYLP), the U.S. subsidiary of GS Yuasa Corporation (GYC), and EaglePicher Technologies, LLC, jointly announced that Orbital ATK has selected EaglePicher to design and manufacture a battery with specifications to use lithium-ion cells manufactured by GS Yuasa Technology (GYT) to power the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS)-2 spacecraft.

NanoSpace to supply components for TURKSAT 6A

NanoSpace AB – a subsidiary of GS Sweden AB – has received an order of Xenon flow control components from The Scientific and Technological Research Counsil of Turkey – Space Technologies Research Institute (TUBITAK UZAY) in Ankara.
