NASA selects mission to study black holes, cosmic X-rays

NASA has selected a science mission that will allow astronomers to explore, for the first time, the hidden details of some of the most extreme and exotic astronomical objects, such as stellar and supermassive black holes, neutron stars and pulsars.

Harris completes sale of CapRock Communications SpeedCast

SpaceX to resume launches on 8 January

SpaceX said an investigation has concluded that the explosion of its Falcon 9 rockets on 1 September 2016 occurred due to the failure of a helium pressure vessel. The company added it was taking steps to avoid the problem for its return to flight, which is now set for 8 January.

Mars Odyssey orbiter recovering from safe mode

NASA’s Mars Odyssey orbiter, which has been in service at Mars since October 2001, put itself into safe mode — a protective standby status — on 26 December while remaining in communication with Earth.
