Ukraine plans to launch Lybid 1 in fourth quarter of 2017

Ukraine’s State Space Agency Chairman Yuriy Radchenko said that Ukraine is expected to carry out launch of its Lybid 1 telecommunications satellite in the fourth quarter of 2017.

Russia opens ground station to monitor space debris in Brazil

Russia’s first ground station of the Automated Warning System on Hazardous Situations in Outer Space (ASPOS OKP) aimed at monitoring orbital debris was opened in Brazil, a spokesman of the Roskosmos state corporation was quoted as saying.

European conference on space debris risks and mitigation

The 7th European Conference on Space Debris, to be held 18-21 April at ESA’s Space Operations Centre in Darmstadt, Germany, will be opened by ESA Director General January Woerner and NASA’s former orbital debris chief scientist Donald Kessler.

SES announces restructuring

SES announced that its Board of Directors approved a restructuring of SES’s go-to-market organisation model with the creation of two highly focused business units, SES Video and SES Networks, focusing on the video- and data-centric segments in which SES operates.
