Iran launches Simorgh rocket

Iran said it successfully tested a satellite-launch rocket. The vehicle, named Simorgh (“Phoenix”), was capable of propelling a satellite with a mass of 250 kg into a 500-kilometres orbit.

General Dynamics awarded new Landsat contract

General Dynamics Mission Systems received a contract from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) to ‘fly’ the current Landsat 8 mission from the existing Landsat mission operations centre at the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Seabrook, Maryland.
