Telesat books New Glenn launches

Anomaly detected aboard Soyuz rocket, launch maybe delayed

Following routine checks for the upcoming OneWeb launch, Arianespace informed OneWeb of technical issue on the Fregat upper stage of the Soyuz launcher. The Fregat stage has been placed in safe configuration, enabling Arianespace to conduct additional testing.

Loon’s balloons to support Telesat’s LEO constellation

Telesat and Loon, a subsidiary of Google’s parent company Alphabet, announced they have entered into an agreement under which Loon will deliver a network operating system design that Telesat can use to support its global low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation.

China’s launch plans for 2019

China is going to send more than 50 spacecraft into space via over 30 launches this year, according to the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC). The major missions include the third Chang Zheng-5 large carrier rocket to be launched in July, said Yang Baohua, vice president of the CASC.

Next Ariane 5 ECA launch set for 5 February

For its first launch of 2019, Arianespace will orbit two telecommunications satellites using an Ariane 5 from the Guiana Space Center: Saudi Geostationary Satellite 1/Hellas Sat 4, a condosat for KACST and Hellas Sat; along with GSAT-31 for the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
