Aerojet Rocketdyne announced that it is celebrating the 30-year anniversary of its first Solar Electric Propulsion (SEP) mission.

The Lockheed Martin A2100 communications satellite series has achieved a major milestone by achieving over 400 cumulative years of successful, in-orbit operations.

Ten years ago, NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope – built, integrated and tested at Lockheed Martin Space Systems in Sunnyvale – was launched into an Earth-trailing orbit around the sun.

Thirty years ago the premier launch of the Advanced TIROS-N satellite series carried the first Search and Rescue (SAR) payload on a U.S. satellite. The satellite, NOAA-E, was designed and built at the Lockheed Martin (then RCA Astrospace Division) facility in East Windsor, New Jersey.

The sixth Tracking and Data Relay Satellite (TDRS), built for NASA by Northrop Grumman Corporation (NOC), marked 20 years of successful on-orbit performance 13 January surpassing its design life by a decade.

Orbital Sciences Corporation announced that the company is celebrating the tenth anniversary of the launch and successful operation of the company-built Solar and Radiation Climate Experiment (SORCE) satellite.
