Plan B for AEHF 1 orbit-raising manoeuvres implemented

Operations have begun to salvage the U.S. Air Force’s AEHF 1 satellite, which got stuck in its supersynchronous transfer orbit after a successful launch on 14 August.

GOCE mission in trouble after software glitch

ESA’s Gravity field and steady-state Ocean Circulation Explorer (GOCE) has been hit by a software glitch and is currently unable to transmit science data.

AEHF 1 orbit-raising manoeuvres delayed

The recently launched first Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) satellite seems to have developed a problem that will at least delay its arrival in geostationary orbit.

Zombiesat approaches next satellite

Zombie satellite Galaxy 15 has arrived in the vicinity of Galaxy 14, the third satellite it will fly by. Intelsat said that fly-by plans have been created and communicated to all Galaxy 14 customers.

Analysis shows GSLV-D3 failure was caused by turbo pump

The third developmental flight of India’s Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV-D3) on 15 April 2010, which was to test the indigenously developed Cryogenic Upper Stage (CUS), failed because of a problem with the upper stage engine’s turbo pump.

Progress docking with ISS fails
