Centaur underperformance caused by stuck valve

Sea Launch concludes investigation of launch failure

The Sea Launch Failure Review Oversight Board (FROB) has concluded its review of the findings of an interagency CIS Joint Commission, which has been investigating the cause of the unsuccessful launch of 30 January 2007. All systems have been cleared for operations, pending completion and tests of all repairs on the Launch Platform.

MetOp-A switches off payload module

The European MetOp-A weather satellite experienced a total switch-off of the payload module (PLM) for no apparent reason on 20 April at 1014 UTC, the European Organisation for the Exploitation of of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) said.

Human error caused loss of Mars Global Surveyor

NASA’s Mars Global Surveyor (MGS) orbiter appears to have succumbed to battery failure caused by a complex sequence of events involving the onboard computer memory and ground commands. The causes were released today in a preliminary report by an internal review board.

China says Beidou 1D problem fixed

China has for the first time admitted that its Beidou 1D (or Beidou 2A) satellite developed a problem shortly after launch on 3 February but said the malfunction has now been fixed.
