Harris CapRock and Astrium Services to offer UHF tactical satellite solutions

Harris CapRock Communications, a provider of fully managed communications for remote and harsh environments, has signed a multi-year, multi-channel agreement with Astrium Services to offer end-to-end Ultra-High Frequency (UHF) Tactical Satellite solutions to international and U.S. Government users. The joint Harris CapRock and Astrium Services end-to-end commercial UHF service will be launched in spring 2013.

Hispasat makes first transmissions of next-gen 3D TV

Hispasat has made the world’s first demonstration of the JEDI (Just Explore DImensions) television channel in 3D compatible with the MVC (Multiview Video Coding) format. With this format, it is possible to transmit the same content in HD (high definition) and 3D Full HD on the same signal.

SMOS satellite measurements improve as ground radars switch off

Over a dozen radio signals that have hindered data collection on ESA’s SMOS water mission have been switched off. Boeing FAB-T demonstrates communications with on-orbit AEHF satellite

Boeing has successfully demonstrated end-to-end communication using a terminal from the Family of Advanced Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminals (FAB-T) system and the Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) satellite.

MediaScape extends capacity on SES satellites
