Newtec breaks 500 Mbps barrier on 72-MHz transponder

Newtec said it has ushered in a new era of bandwidth efficiency by breaking the magical 0.5 Gbps two-way throughput over a 72 MHz transponder on a Eutelsat satellite.

SES signs new multi-year capacity deal with Telikom PNG

Gogo Partners with SES to offer broadband aboard commercial airlines

Raytheon to link Navy Multiband Terminal to U.S. Air Force’s Polar Satellite

Raytheon Company has received a US$19 million contract to modify the Navy Multiband Terminal (NMT) to link it with the U.S. Air Force’s Enhanced Polar Satellite (EPS). The link will allow U.S. Navy and Air Force to overcome communications gaps in the remote polar region.

DISH invests in broadband satellite chipset for mobile devices

DISH Network announced a collaboration with Qualcomm to enable support of satellite-based communications in Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 platform, the world’s first dual-core solution with an integrated multi-mode 3G/LTE modem, for use in future DISH wireless devices.
