Lockheed Martin Commercial Launch Services has been selected by GeoEye, Inc. to launch the company’s next-generation, high-resolution Earth-imaging satellite, GeoEye-2, on an Atlas V rocket. Financial terms are not being disclosed at this time.

Globalstar has announced 19 October as the scheduled inaugural launch date for six new second-generation Globalstar satellites using a Soyuz launch vehicle.

Avanti Communications said it has agreed the launch slot on an Ariane 5 launch vehicle which opens on 15 November 2010 with launch expected on that day or within a few days thereafter.

International Launch Services (ILS) and SES announced the extension to 31 December 2014 of the SES Multi Launch Agreement (MLA) and the addition of a sixth firm ILS Proton mission through 2014.

China will launch the SinoSat-6 [a.k.a. Xinnuo-6] satellite for radio and television broadcasting from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center within the next few days, an official from the centre said.
