Italian officials have denied they would launch Iran’s Mesbah satellite. This is hardly surprising considering the fact that Italy has no orbital launch vehicle, but it also sheds some light on a few mysteries that so far surrounded Mesbah.

China will launch a scientific research satellite in the near future from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, a spokesman with the centre said according to Xinhua.

International Launch Services (ILS) and Sirius XM Radio announced a contract for the launch of the XM-5 satellite on an ILS Proton. The satellite is scheduled for launch in 2010. This is the tenth firm award announced by ILS this year.

A United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket, on behalf of Lockheed Martin Space Launch Services, will launch the commercial Intelsat-14 satellite from Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on 14 November.

Iran’s satellite launch plans remain confusing. Over the past weeks, Iranian media tried to prepare the public for the immanent launch of the country’s long-delayed Mesbah satellite aboard an indigenous rocket. Now a completely different story has been told by the semi-official Mehr news agency.

China will launch the French-made Apstar 7 communications satellite for Hong Kong-based APT Satellite Holding Limited in the first half of 2012.
