Rocket: Atlas V/Centaur; Payload: Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO), Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite (LCROSS); Date: 18 June, 2132 UTC; Site: Cape Canaveral Sir Force Station, USA. The Centaur upper stage successfully deployed LRO on a direct trajectory to the Moon.

NASA postponed the launch of space shuttle Endeavour’s STS-127 mission today because of a leak associated with the gaseous hydrogen venting system outside the shuttle’s external fuel tank.

NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, or LRO, and the Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite, or LCROSS, rolled aboard their Atlas V rocket to the launch pad at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida in preparation for launch on 18 June.

The two Prisma satellites are undergoing their final system tests in Swedish Space Corporation’s clean room in Solna, Sweden. Since the satellites returned from France, where they underwent environmental tests, they have been completed with final software versions.
