Globalstar gets FCC approval for next-gen satellites

Globalstar, Inc. announced that the International Bureau of the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has granted Globalstar authority to operate its second-generation satellites within the United States. This authority will become effective once Globalstar completes registering the constellation with France, which is expected to occur in the near future.

Yahsat wins right to operate satellite in Brazil

UAE-based satellite operator, Yahsat, has been awarded a license to operate its Ka-band satellite, Al Yah 3, by the National Telecommunications Agency, ANATEL, in Brazil.

Hughes to compensate Elbit Systems for patent infringement

Elbit Systems Ltd. confirmed that on 7 August 2017, a jury in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas found Hughes Network Systems, LLC, to have infringed one of its patent, which generally relates to high-speed satellite communications, U.S. Patent No. 6,240,073.
