Spanish IT company Indra said it will lead the development and supply of the ground segment of the Paz Earth Observation satellite. The contracts awarded to Indra by INTA, an organ of the Spanish Ministry of Defence, amount to EUR9 million. The most recent evaluations of NASA’s Tracking and Data Relay Satellite (TDRS) project confirmed all systems go for a third generation upgrade of the orbiting communications network. TDRS-K is scheduled for launch aboard an Atlas V rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida in autumn 2012.
