COM DEV wins work on multiple satellites

DigitalGlobe said that the elevation data gathered from its latest high-resolution satellite, WorldView-2, has been verified as accurate within 30 centimeters by PhotoSat based on data collected by MWH Geo-Surveys.

SSTL, Dutch Space to offer “piggy back” platform for GEO

Surrey Satellite Technology Limited (SSTL) and Dutch Space BV have joined forces to develop and exploit a small geostationary platform that is specifically designed to utilise excess launch vehicle capacity, creating opportunities for lower cost geostationary missions.

COM DEV International Ltd. said it has been awarded an authorisation to proceed (ATP) to provide switches, filters and multiplexers for a commercial communications satellite.

Thales Alenia Space begins development of Sentinel 1B and 3B

Thales Alenia Space announced that it has started the development of Sentinel 1B and 3B Earth observation satellites in its Italian and French facilities. These contracts have been awarded to Thales Alenia Space in December 2009, worth EUR270 million, by the European Space Agency (ESA) as part of the Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES) programme.

Three FASTSAT instruments pass tests

Three scientific instruments to fly on the FASTSAT-HSV01 satellite recently passed a series of final tests to prove their readiness for spaceflight. Known as MINI-ME, PISA and TTI, these instruments were conceived and built at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center and were integrated to the satellite and tested at NASA’s Marshall Spaceflight Center.

GeoEye orders new imaging satellite from Lockheed Martin

Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company has been selected by GeoEye, Inc. to build the company’s next-generation, high-resolution Earth imaging satellite system known as GeoEye-2.
