TerreStar Networks, a majority owned subsidiary of Terre Star Corporation, and Space Systems/Loral announced that TerreStar-1 has arrived on schedule in Kourou, French Guiana where it is scheduled to launch on 24 June aboard an Ariane 5.

The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) has warned that the number of satellites in the GPS constellation could fall below the required 24 spacecraft because of delays in the development of replacement satellites.

STS-125 mission specialists Mike Massimino and Mike Good today conducted the mission’s fourth spacewalk, continuing repairs and improvements that will extend the Hubble Space Telescope’s life into the next decade.

Additional funding will be assigned for the GLONASS navigation satellite network within the next three years, deputy head of Russia’s Federal Space Agency, Anatoly Shilov, was quoted as saying. Statements by other Russian officials were a bit more cautious.
