Astrotech to process two GOES satellites

Spacehab Inc. announced that its Astrotech subsidiary was awarded two contracts totalling US$3.2 million from United Launch Alliance (ULA) in support of the ground processing of Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites, GOES O and GOES P.

France to provide aid, technology for Vietnamese EO satellite

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has agreed that France would be the provider of technology and official development assistance (ODA) for the Vietnam Resource Environment Disaster Satellite (VNREDSat-1).

ICO G1 testing complete

ICO Global Communications (Holdings) Limited (ICO) announced that ICO G1 satellite In Orbit Testing (IOT) and testing of the Ground Based Beam Forming (GBBF) system for the ICO Space Segment are both now complete, and the company’s subsidiary, ICO Satellite Services G.P., has accepted the Space Segment from Space Systems/Loral.

MDA gets Canadarm2 contract amendment

The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) has increased its funding to expand the scope of the existing contract with MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. to provide support for the Mobile Servicing System, including building a spare Latching End Effector for the Canadarm2.

Lockheed Martin delivers SBIRS-GEO flight software

Lockheed Martin announced that it has successfully delivered the first of two major blocks of flight software designed to provide command and control of the Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) geosynchronous orbit (GEO) spacecraft.

Spacehab to support pre-launch preparations for Russia’s MRM1

Spacehab, Incorporated has reached an agreement in principal with RSC Energia to provide facilities and support services for its Mini Research Module (MRM1). The MRM1 will be readied for its journey aboard the U.S. Space Shuttle at the Spacehab Cape Canaveral payload processing location.
