Formosat-3 observations indicate ionospheric changes precede Earthquakes

Taiwanese satellites recorded a sharp drop in ionospheric density above China’s Sichuan Province before the Earthquake a week ago, verifying previous records that seismic activities affect ionospheric density, the China Times reported.

SpaceDev awarded DARPA programme option

Northrop Grumman resonating gyro achieves 10 million operating hours in space

Northrop Grumman Corporation said its patented hemispherical resonating gyro (HRG) technology recently surpassed 10 million hours of continuous service in support of numerous commercial and military space applications dating back to February of 1996.

Galaxy 18 pre-launch details

Update: Lockheed wins first GPS III contract

Officials from the U.S. Air Force Space Command’s Space and Missile Systems Center’s Global Positioning Systems Wing announced the award of the next generation GPS Space System (GPS IIIA) prime contract to Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company with a period of performance of FY 08-17 and valued at US$1.46 million.
