Ariane 5 ECA completes 100th flight

Rocket: Ariane 5 ECA; Payload: Horizons 3e, Azerspace-2/Intelsat 38 [IS 38]; Date: 25 September 2018, 2239 UTC; Launch site: Kourou, French Guiana. Horizons 3e separated from the upper stage 28 minutes after lift-off, followed by Azerspace-2/IS 38 about 14 minutes later.

NASA extends Chandra operations, science support contract

NASA has awarded a contract extension to the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (SAO) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to continue operations and science support for the agency’s Chandra X-ray Observatory.

Airbus successfully tests stratospheric 4G/5G

Airbus has successfully tested stratospheric 4G/5G defence applications with a high-altitude balloon demonstration. The technology tested, an Airbus LTE AirNode, represents a key part of Airbus’ secure networked airborne military communications project, Network for the Sky (NFTS).
