Milstar constellation reconfigured

A combined U.S. Air Force/Lockheed Martin team has successfully completed an on-orbit reconfiguration of the five-satellite Milstar constellation to maximise the system’s capabilities to provide military communications around the globe.

Spaceway 3 completes trip to Kourou

Hughes Network Systems, LLC announced that its Spaceway 3 satellite has arrived at the Arianespace launch facility in Kourou, French Guiana where an Ariane 5 ECA will launch the satellite into geosynchronous transfer orbit.

NASA awards contract for Ares upper stage engine

NASA has signed a US$1.2 billion contract with Pratt and Whitney Rocketdyne Inc. for design, development, testing and evaluation of the J-2X engine that will power the upper stages of the Ares I and Ares V launch vehicles.
