EU Commission approves proposed SES Astra-Eutelsat joint venture

The European Commission has approved the creation of a joint venture between SES Astra and Eutelsat for the provision of satellite infrastructure for broadcasting mobile TV as well as voice and data communication services to mobile devices.

Astrium to study new Vega upper stage

Astrium has won a contract from the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Cologne to investigate concepts for a new upper stage for the European launcher Vega. The project is named “Venus” (Vega New Upper Stage).
