Alcatel-Lucent tests DVB-SH standard for mobile TV

Alcatel-Lucent announced that it is performing a technical test of its solution for broadcast mobile TV using the DVB-SH standard in the S-Band (2.2GHz). This pilot will take place until September 2007 in the South-West part of France.

Integral Systems to provide ProtoStar with ground system

Integral Systems, Inc. announced a contract with ProtoStar to provide a fully integrated, turnkey ground system for the ProtoStar-I satellite. The ground system will include products from Integral as well as Integral’s wholly-owned subsidiaries SAT Corporation and Newpoint Technologies.

IAI to build Amos-4

Meteosat-8 likely hit by micro-meteorite or space junk

On 22 May 2007 at about 0050 UTC, Meteosat-8 experienced an orbit change which was not the result of a commanded manoeuvre, the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) revealed today.

Thuraya 3 launch set for mid-October
